An update on the progress of the George B. Prindle Water Treatment Plant upgrade was cause for excitement at the Wednesday, April 16 Highland Park City Council meeting.

The project, which began in February of 2013, with a pilot program arriving at the site in January of that year, is predicted to increase drinking water output from 21 million gallons per day to 30 million gallons. The City is achieving this by installing a new water treatment technology called “membrane filtration” in the existing footprint.
