A little more than a year ago, after diagnosing myself with appendicitis as per my google medical research, I was diagnosed instead with lymphoma. From the moment I entered the Highland Park Hospital emergency room, throughout my entire stay at the hospital, before my final biopsy results, every doctor who came into my hospital room spoke of lymphoma kind of like I would speak of chocolate — the word easily rolled off their tongues. That being said, everyone at the hospital was so nice.
