Just like the past few elections before it, on Nov. 6, I woke up at 5:50, rolled out of bed in my pajamas and went to my local library to vote when the polls opened at 6 a.m.

Every two years, I stand groggy-eyed and sleep-deprived in the library lobby, while at the same time feeling thrilled at the opportunity to cast my ballot for issues and candidates that I believe will help better my local community.
