After decades at Elm Place Middle School, Project Citizen held its first program at Highland Park’s Edgewood Middle School April 5.

“Project Citizen is a nationally sponsored program in which students learn about public policy and civic education,” said Dr. Mark Hill, a Highland Park resident and professor of surgery, who has chaired the event for the past 20 years. “Each year students choose a problem in their community, research it, develop a public policy and devise a action plan to promote it.”
