North Shore School District 112 board members approved a TIF agreement with the City of Highwood after a lengthy discussion at their Jan. 21 meeting.

Highwood’s TIF district would be extended for 12 years – though it could be dissolved earlier if development goals are met before that time – and the city’s goal would be to reimburse D112 100 percent of the cost of each new student the district would acquire as a result of the development spurred by the TIF district. It would be an agreement between Highwood, D112 and D113.
