North Shore School District 112 will move toward an evidence-based funding model to decrease the burden of support from property taxpayers over time, according to a presentation during the board’s Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday.

Right now, 90 percent of the district’s revenue comes from local property taxes, which differ by zip code. That not only makes the funding model inequitable to taxpayers, but also to families that live in zip codes with less revenue coming in, Superintendent Michael Lubelfeld said.
