As the sixth-grade class at Edgewood Middle School in Highland Park filed into the school’s auditorium there was a buzz of excitement as students saw not only pictures of dogs on a screen, but two dogs, Max and Carly, on stage.

They were there as part of a presentation that their owners, Riverwoods resident Barbara Feldman and Highland Park resident Micki Ross, two former teachers at Glencoe’s West School made about the connection between humans and animals.
