A group of Northfield residents came to the regular Winnetka-Northfield Library Board meeting Monday, Aug. 19, at the Winnetka Library to express their discontent over the departure of what they perceive to be an inordinate number of long-time employees from the Northfield branch for no explicable reason.

“Scores and scores have left,” said Chuck Hirsch, who identified himself as a 46-year Northfield resident who had served on the Avoca and New Trier school boards. “These are professionals. Many had long tenure. There’s something wrong.
