For Highland Park High School juniors Gracie Dickman and Ariana Goldstein the hours, and hours, and hours they spent studying for the ACT paid off big time.

The two students scored a 36 on the standardized test used for college admissions, which is the highest score a student can receive.

The test is broken into five sections — English, math, reading, science with an optional writing section. Students are given two hours and 55 minutes to complete the first four sections, and an addition 40 minutes to complete the writing section.
