When Governor JB Pritzker signed a bill banning workplace discrimination against organ donors earlier this year, the ramifications of the bill, which goes into effect Jan. 1, 2020 were not lost on Highland Park resident Jerry Fisher.

Fisher is one of more than 100,000 on the organ donor list, according to the Living Kidney Donor Network, as he awaits a kidney from a living donor, or a deceased donor.
