An estimated 44,000 runners accomplished their goal on Oct. 13, as they weaved their way through 26.2 miles of the north, west and south sides of Chicago, before crossing the finish line of the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in Grant Prank.

The race was won by Lawrence Cherono, of Kenya, who finished the marathon in 2:05:45. Dejene Debela, of Ethiopia, was named the runner-up with a time of 2:05:46, and coming in two seconds later for third place was Ethiopia’s Asefa Mengstu.
