While it is not always easy to schedule programming for middle school students, the Highland Park Library thought outside the box when they put on a library-themed escape room event for sixth through eighth grade students.

The event, called “Escape the Library,” consisted of library props, puzzles, historical clues and locked books with a 45-minute time limit to escape the room. Groups of up to eight had to work together in order to escape and receive a secret chocolate bar prize.
