After running three franchises of Frost Gelato throughout the Chicago area for more than seven years, Kurt Bruksch wanted a change.

He ran locations in Highland Park and Naperville, with a seasonal spot on the Chicago Riverwalk, but as of last year, Bruksch broke ties with Frost Gelato and branched out on his own, rebranding all three locations as Sweet Home Gelato.

One of the main reasons for the change was Bruksch had ideas that the Frost Gelato company wouldn’t allow him to do under their name.
