Although Glenview resident Franco Francese and his brother Vito have owned Mattone Restaurant and Bar in La Grange Park for nine years, they were always searching for a spot to open up something closer to home.

Opportunity came knocking when a space became available to lease through the Glenview Park District, leading to the opening of Coarse Italian, a rustic Italian restaurant that serves lunch and dinner located at the Glenview Park Golf Club. The grand opening of the restaurant was June 17.
