Local authors from the Chicagoland area had a chance to show off their work to the Highland Park community at the Local Author Festival at the Highland Park Public Library on Saturday.

A steady stream of visitors from when the event began at 1 p.m. to when it ended at 4 p.m. kept most of the roughly two dozen authors busy. Books were available for sale and authors signed copies for those who purchased them.

Work on display and for sale included everything from novels to self-help books and memoirs.
