I can clearly remember the hot tears streaming down my face when my gym teacher junior year of high school, Mr. Gedville, told us we had to run the mile...again.

How could he do this to us? We were only required to run four torturous laps around our track once a semester, and we had already finished our 2 miles for the school year.

My friends and I protested. We walked the entire mile. It took us nearly 20 minutes.

Eight years later, I just ran 26.2 miles. Not even for a grade. For fun, I guess.
