Some people run for exercise. Others, for medals, t-shirts and the additional swag that accompanies finishing a race. But for the runners at the Run for Life 5K, Sunday, Sept. 23, they ran to give hope to families.

The race, which took place at Glenview’s Blue Star Memorial Woods, was held as a benefit for the Kevin J. Lederer Life Foundation — an organization founded by Highland Park resident Eve Feinberg.

Feinberg works as a reproductive endocrinologist at Northwestern Medicine in Highland Park, specializing in fertility.
