A faculty member at Lake Forest High School is in self-quarantine after she told school officials she had attended a meeting at a school where a teacher’s aide tested positive for coronavirus, reports our sister paper The Lake Forest Leader.

In an email sent to parents on Monday, March 9, District 115 Superintendent Michael Simeck reported the faculty member was not in attendance at the Vaughn Occupational High School meeting, but they were in a room where the aide had been present during the day.

“Our faculty member worked at both Lake Forest High School East and West Campus last week, prior to being advised to self-quarantine by public health authorities,” Simeck wrote in the email. “In an abundance of caution, we will be contacting individuals who we know were in direct contact with our faculty member, so they are conscious of this notification.”

The LFHS faculty member has not shown any coronavirus symptoms, and is cooperating with the request for the 14-day self-quarantine, Simeck said.
