Highwood resident Milton Galvan, 45, was arrested Aug. 7 on a four-count felony charge for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Galvan was arrested at his place of employment in downtown Highland Park, according to Deerfield Deputy Chief of Police Tom Keane. He was taken into custody by the Deerfield Police Department, as he was a former resident of the village.

His August arrest stemmed from a case reopened by the Lake County State’s Attorney office, in which parents reported on April 5, 2011, that Galvan had inappropriately touched their daughters, who were 8 and 6 years old at the time, according to a press release from the Deerfield Police Department.

According to an offense report received by The Highland Park Landmark, the victims were friends of the family.

The two victims were interviewed by both the Deerfield Police Department and the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center.

A warrant was issued for Galvan’s arrest on Aug. 7 and he was arrested the same day. After Galvan’s arrest, a Lake County judge signed a warrant with a $250,000 bond assigned.

The 2011 case was reopened after Galvan was arrested in May 2019 on similar charges.

According to a press release from the Deerfield Police Department, on Oct. 9, 2018, a parent reported their juvenile daughter was inappropriately touched on several occasions at a Deerfield residence.

According to an offense report received by The Highland Park Landmark, the victim was a friend of Galvan’s child.

The Lake County State’s Attorney’s office approved an arrest warrant for Galvan in May, stemming from the 2018 report, with the following charges:

• 2 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child (class X felony)

• 1 count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (class 2 felony)

Galvan surrendered himself with his attorney present on May 2 and appeared in bond court on May 3, when he was assigned a bond at 10 percent of $250,000.

Galvan is due in court Aug. 28 in Waukegan for the reopened case.
