1. Boys Tennis: Edelchik brings home state title

Top-seeded Jacob Edelchik became Highland Park’s fifth boys singles champion since the inauguration of the state tennis tournament in 1912. Edelchik defeated Maine South’s Danilo Kovacevic 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 for the Class 2A singles title May 27 at Hersey after downing New Trier’s Jeffrey Chen 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the semifinals.

I'm confused. Nice of you to recognize the HP Girls Tennis team for winning conference but that was the least of their accomplishments. They also won their sectional and finished 4th in state which I'd imagine is the highest finish for any HPHS team in 2017. I suggest a little more coverage on this team next fall as they could potentially make a run at a state title as they return their top 7 players from last year. Thanks!
