Patriotism and gratitude were everywhere as Highland Park residents packed downtown streets for the annual Fourth of July parade honoring the 125th anniversary of the Highland Park Fire Department’s service to the community.

Leading the parade, which was co-hosted by the City and the Park District of Highland Park, was 30-year veteran fireman Thomas Mann, now retired. He was followed by an array of 75 participants that included vintage fire engines, cars, floats, marching bands, novelty groups and community organizations.
