Graduating Highland Park High School with the rest of her 495 classmates on May 28, Highland Park resident Gabrielle Levine said she almost quit high school “a lot of times” throughout the four years.
“The motivation from the teachers just telling [me] to keep going [and saying], ‘You’re going to make it.’ ... I actually got a tattoo saying stay strong to help me get through it,” Levine said, noting she will be attending art school in Florida this fall. “It’s worth it in the end, and I get to be [at graduation].”
