A group of concerned residents expressed displeasure at the Highland Park City Council meeting Tuesday, June 11, with how the City is spending and reporting money — despite the City earning positive marks on its most recent audit.

The residents spoke out against, what they say, is improper use of taxpayer dollars by Mayor Nancy Rotering and the City, as more than $1 million will be spent on creating additional parking for the library as part of the City's library expansion project. Residents did not see the need to create further parking for the project.
