“Evita” is not a show taken on by your average high school theater program.

Then again, Highland Park High School Theatre is far from average.

“Evita” tells the story of actress and Argentine political figure Eva Perón, the second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón. The story follows Evita’s early life, rise to power, charity work, and eventual death. The show opened Feb. 10 at Highland Park High School, with performances this upcoming weekend, Feb. 17-18.
